KET, your Kits Point Executive Team, has made a submission on behalf of the Kits Point Residents’ Association in response to the invitation for public comment with respect to the Indigenous Services Canada Notice of Intent to Make a Determination on whether the proposed Sen̓áḵw development, located in Kitsilano IR6 in Vancouver, BC is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

March 17, 2021 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Senakw, located in Kitsilano IR6 in Vancouver, BC is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project
Squamish Nation is seeking a Lease to construct a 12 tower mixed residential-commercial development within the Kilsilano IR6 reserve in the City of Vancouver.  The development is proposed over 4 phases and will include approximately 6,000 residential units.

While we respect the right of the Squamish Nation to develop these reserve lands, we have concerns about adverse environmental effects of the development as proposed. You can page through our 5-page Submission with its 23-page attachment below:
